Our guest speakers today were Ann Davidson and Kevin Strooband
Ann Davidson is a certified human resources professional who is self employed as a consultant. She is the current president of the Lincoln County Humane Society (LCHS). Beside these two employments Ann also teaches at Niagara College.
Kevin Strooband is the current Executive Director of the Lincoln County Humane Society (LCHS); he has been with the shelter for almost 21 years. He started out as a part time animal control officer and he was later promoted to the rank of inspector.
Ann and Kevin offered a comprehensive power point presentation on the current issues facing the LCHS. Included in this were a number of startling facts regarding our cat and dog over population. They also discussed the ratios of mostly cats but also dogs admitted to the Society that need to be neutered, spayed or euthanized. Kevin and Ann laid out the 3 phase, proactive action plan that they have developed to deal with these issues, and attached to that was the budget required for this action plan to be implemented. This budget highlighted the fundraising shortfall that needs to be met to make it possible for them to expand their facilities and staff to make it feasible for the LCHS to implement its proactive plan.
