ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Our club application for a Matching District Grant for our Trees That Feed project has received conditional approval from District 7090. It now has to be submitted to Rotary International for final approval- we expect to hear from them before August 1st, 2014. Thank you John for helping us with the submission.
The Rotary Club of Lakeshore annual Trivia night is this Saturday, February 15th. Team South- Teibert, Henry, Garneau, Dominick & Gionet will try to uphold our club honour.
Arie has managed to get Snap to place our Polio Plus cheque presentation at the joint luncheon on April 7th. into their calendar of events- thank you Arie- Please mark this date on your calendar- as we are the host club this year let’s have full club attendance.
A thank you note has been received from Big Brothers/Big Sisters for our donation to their mentorship program
Our application for the annual District Presidential Citation has been sent to DG Kevin Crouse- we hope that it will qualify us for this prestigious award.
David and I have just returned from Jamaica-Our cheque for $5,300.00 for the Trees That Feed Project was presented to The Rotary Club of Ocho Rios East and the Assistant Governor of District 7020. I met with the Ministry of Education Permanent Secretary, members of the MOE committee for the National Feeding program and Rotary East in Kingston to prepare for the launch of the next phase of our project. More news to follow later as plans are finalized.
Bingo- John Teibert- Next bingo is Friday February 14th and John needs volunteers. Bring you loved one for a fun evening.
The joint Rotary Ski day is February 14th- in Ellicottville
Explore Niagara - Mike – Looking for more volunteers for the committee. Meetings will be every 2 weeks after the regular meetings.
2014 District Assembly - Saturday, May 3rd, Niagara Falls, Ont.
There will be a Board meeting tomorrow at my house - 4:30 PM.
There will be no weekly meeting next Monday due to Family Day.
On a sad note- our deepest sympathy is extended to Sharon - our Club hostess - on the death of her husband. Sharon is always so helpful and cheerful in making our meetings runs smoothly. Our thoughts and prayers are with her and her family at this time.
