John Travers, Doug GeddieRoss McDonaldArt Weaver, Ron Bassett, and Sandy Peters - all Rotarians with the Downtown St. Catharines Club and members of the Civic Affairs Committee for Rotary Park.

Bob McBride, serving as Sergeant-at-Arms, in jest, fined:

, who won't play Poker;
Paul Massuet, who left to renew his driver's license;
Jim Howes, for his "lobster story";
Brian Radford, for the talking horse and for non-stop talking;

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Ron Kozub announced
that the Alzheimers Society of Niagara 
is seeking volunteers. Anyone who is interested please contact Ron or the Society at 905-687-3914.  

Greg McDonald announced that Bingo is Saturday, January 14, 2006 from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Volunteers include Matt and Georgette Taylor and June Manning. Addtional volunteers are always needed.

Kim Payne announced that "Winterfest in the Square" is Saturday, January 14, 2006 in the Market Square, St. Catharines. This is the 2nd Annual Fundraiser for "Out of the Cold." Admission is free with tokens available at the door for food and drink. Winterfest features local Niagara wines, cuisine, and musical entertainment.
 
Bob McKay announced that the planning meetings have started for the Diamond-Studded Dinner Dance. The Planning Committee will meet every Friday until May 2006. Co-Chairs are June Manning and Bob McBride. 

The Club's first Assembly is February 6th, 2006, which will be held in the Orchard Room of the Quality Inn/Parkway Convention Centre.

On January 16th, 2006, the Club will receive a presentation from Amy Graham and Fred Farnum on Ryla. 

May 5-7, 2006, is the District Conference. And the Rotary International Convention is in June, which Matt and Georgette Taylor are attending.  

Hospice Niagara is looking for assistance on the Niagara capital campaign in June. Let Bob or Ron Kozub know if you are interested in helping.  

Fireside Chats will be starting soon. More information to follow.

Matt Taylor announced that Doug French will be sending a request for support to the Club on the Child Advocacy Centre Niagara. 

St. Catharines Inner Wheel Club is hosting a Starry Night Dinner Dance on Saturday, February 4th, 2006 at 91 Lakeshore Road in St. Catharines. Tickets are $50. each. Proceeds to the Niagara Health System for breast cancer research and kidney dialysis. For tickets, contact Thelma 905-892-0896 or Patti 905-732-6975.

Jim Shannon introduced our Guest Speaker, Mr. Michael Michaud, who updated the Club on the Rotary Park.

Jim Shannon reported 24 members, 10 make-ups and seven Visiting Rotarians for 97% attendance.
