Laetitia de Witt, our Director of Vocational Services, provided an interesting overview of the history of Vocational Services within Rotary - one of the four avenues of service, which also includes Club Service, Community Service, and International Service.

Our club does a fine job in the area of Vocational Service, which includes Classification Talks. The worthiness of all classifications is promoted and the dignity of each member's occupation is recognized. Vocational Service focuses on employer/employee relationships - those who are happy at work create human happiness; career information - students can job shadow; Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarships; Rotary medals; Ryla; Camp Enterprise; Crysis; and Junior Achievement.

At the core of Vocational Service is business ethics - Rotary's four-way test of all things we think, say, and do:

  1. Is it the truth?
  2. Is it fair to all concerned?
  3. Will it build goodwill and better friendships?
  4. Will it be beneficial to all concerned?
