WHATS GOING ON IN THE CLUB
President’s Announcements
- Negotiation with the City of St. Catharines regarding the St. Catharines Museum as a new home for the all three St. Catharines Clubs.
- The Rotary Club of St. Catharines Downtown has decided to continue on with negotiations with the City of St.Catharines concerning the Museum as a possible site for our three clubs to hold our Rotary meetings. Lori from the downtown club will see what proposal the City is willing to offer us for the space and once a proposal comes forward, we will let our membership know
Clarice West Hobbs Contemplative Garden - we received the following letter from Eric Jones:

- Bingo-Protocol must be adhered to-dress code, attitudes to players, fulfilling shift jobs They are watching every charity very closely
- Corn Booth- roster filling up- last meeting Wednesday , July 27th at Sandra’s house 7 PM to finalize all areas in need on August 12th. Price for Corn has doubled this year. We will be looking to offsetting some of the cost through sponsorships.
- Bahamian (Nassau) and Abaco clubs are in partnership with the Bahamian Ministry of agriculture
- Abaco -740 breadfruit are now in transit from California arrival on August 12th. Bahamian (Nassau) and Abaco clubs are in partnership with the Bahamian Ministry of Agriculture to accept and prepare the trees for distribution and planting

Cathy- Happy for the Canadian athletes at the World Championships in Oregon- especially the 4x100 world champion relay men’s team
Dan - happy to see Tommy – spoke about Finnish culture discovering heated sands can cut down heating bill
Ed - Canada Games member of the torch bearer photography team - taking pictures for the final relay on Sunday. He also mentioned he is the biggest and most patient fan for the Hamilton Tiger Cats - They have won 1 game all season but still have a chance to make the play offs.
Joey - Is organizing a fund raising window washing crew starting tomorrow. Please contact him to book the crew. All monies go to The Youth Unlimited Centre
David - praise for Julio’s beginning of the presidency, fortunate to have Tommy- Finnish people are the happiest in the world- although ADG Tommy disputed that fact with much laughter
Hatim - Happy to be sharing company and good health
As there was no other Rotary Business, meeting was concluded at 1:10pm and some of the members present stayed for social time.
